I didn’t hear any controversial comments, everything he said was true.

StevieIrelandsPants September 6, 2010 at 9:25 am

These comments are brilliant! All religions are complete batshit!

5 Christians hate this video :D

bigAshizzle September 6, 2010 at 10:20 am

I myself am Christian, but I’m really glad that you atheists are here to question what I believe in, because in turn it makes ME question what I believe in, which in turn causes me to fall silent because… Well… I can’t really defend my argument all that well.

The way I see it, everyone has something to offer. Regardless of what Bill Maher believes in his ideas are well thought out and intelligent, much like George Carlin. With that being said, I respect them.

@1alexoswald Joseph Stalin was after the 19th century, moron.

@metalthorns Well, if there is a god and he supports the pope and the chuch…then im sure Bill will be happy to be able to say “fuck you” face to face with him.

I know i would cos your god is an ass.

eurisko67 September 6, 2010 at 11:01 am

@metalthorns said “Maher will have to answer to God for this at the end of his life!”

Yes, the same way you will answer to Zeus at the end of your life.

MomoTheBellyDancer September 6, 2010 at 11:56 am

@metalthorns
“Maher will have to answer to God for this at the end of his life!”

Yes, threaten people with your imaginary friend. That will teach ‘em.

bongolongo September 6, 2010 at 11:59 am

@metalthorns Oh, consider your own statement deeply. You’re convinced that the god you believe in would punish a man (Maher) for pointing out that said god’s representative on earth (Pope) is a criminal who condones physical abuse of innocent minors? What kind of god is it then you worship? Surely not a moral one…

bongolongo September 6, 2010 at 12:57 pm

If there actually were a Hell, then the catholic administration would surely go there.

bongolongo September 6, 2010 at 1:45 pm

@metalthorns If by God you mean Yoda.

DoomNoMore September 6, 2010 at 2:10 pm

@bpbusstop Loads.. see other videos.

DoomNoMore September 6, 2010 at 2:31 pm

@djohn4444 Many catholics SUPPORT those abuses instead of fighting them. The main reason why a lot of countries saned up is the rise of nontheism.

DoomNoMore September 6, 2010 at 2:39 pm

@mesosteros All atheists go to the Flying Spaghetti Monster when they die.

1alexoswald September 6, 2010 at 2:47 pm

The reason that Ratzinger joined the Hitler Youth at 14 of course was to avoid being priest- raped like the other 14 year olds who didn’t join. EcrossH cites religion as being the vehicle for genocide pre 19th century so Alexander the Great, Attila the Hun and Ghengis Khan have been conveniently ignored . Add Joseph Stalin and you can imagine how many Asiatic massacres have taken place over the centuries.

faithisfiction September 6, 2010 at 3:22 pm

Maher, you’re briliant.

@metalthorns

…as will the Pope.

He’d better pray God doesn’t watch the news.

mesosteros September 6, 2010 at 4:15 pm

@metalthorns Yes. If by god you mean The Flying Spaghetti Monster.

metalthorns September 6, 2010 at 4:55 pm

Maher will have to answer to God for this at the end of his life!

mattymfskmayhem September 6, 2010 at 5:51 pm

this is genius. I love you Bill Maher.

cobalt100 September 6, 2010 at 6:02 pm

The pope is sick, sick, sick. Anyone who pretends to be God’s Attorney General here on Earth is mentally unstable and having delusions about himself. Catholics who “swallow their leader” are really swallowing a big lie.

EcrossH September 6, 2010 at 6:23 pm

@drfoxcourt You forgot to mention that up until the 19th century, religions had a monopoly on genocide and massive, worldwide killing. Stalin and other anti-religious leaders who killed massive numbers of people were just copying the formula that religions had laid down for thousands of years, only they made themselves, their power, and the state out to be the new deities.

McCoolFinn September 6, 2010 at 6:56 pm

Brilliant!

wiesen246 September 6, 2010 at 7:40 pm

Bill is absolutely right on this one!!

metrocks4life September 6, 2010 at 8:30 pm

@mesosteros Atheism is the best thing ever.
